The growth of a nation rests on its ability to produce food to feed the people. It is especially important for a country that is mainly dependent on agricultural practices to know how to grow a variety of food crops. The problem that we are facing in Uganda is that the majority of people only practice agriculture for either selling for money or eating, but often not both. Adding to the low skill levels of these common farmers, they do not profit from high-yield harvests. A couple of chickens or a pig or two is average for a family. LWERUDESO in its area of operation, puts agriculture as a priority for developing the villages. Improved maize seeds, coffee seedlings, pigs and chicken are among the earmarked projects of first priority in addition to equiping the farmers with improved practices for maximum production. The goal is to have the community be involved in a variety of beneficial agricultural practices.
